Mitsubishi UFJ: Market participants are expected to remain cautious with their short-term bets on the Japanese yen
2026-07-31 10:09:58
According to CoinMeta, Michael Wan, a senior foreign exchange analyst at Mitsubishi UFJ Bank, stated in a research report that, considering risk balance, market participants may remain cautious about their short-term bets on the Japanese yen. The net short positions in the yen are still at a high level near historical highs, and Japanese authorities may be attempting to clear these positions. Wan noted that whether the yen can continue its 3.3% gain from Thursday may depend on the market's reaction following the Bank of Japan's policy meeting. In summary, as we approach the weekend and the beginning of next week, Mitsubishi UFJ remains cautious regarding the USD/JPY currency pair.
