Data shows that this sell-off was triggered by derivatives trading, caused by crowded positions and volatile rotation, rather than a decisive breakout in any direction. 2. Short Liquidation Dominates Headlines According to aggregated data from CoinGlass, short liquidations amounted to approximately $39.58 million, while long liquidations amounted to approximately $4 million. The actual amount may be higher due to different classification methods used by various exchanges for contract types and liquidation events. 3. Excessive Long Positions on Some Trading Platforms In the most recent four-hour trading window, total liquidation reached $9.61 million, with Binance leading the way with $5.3 million (55.19%) and 63.79% of long liquidations.
