Ray Dalio: Cash is the 'worst return' for long-term investments
2026-08-01 21:14:34
According to CoinMeta, billionaire investor Ray Dalio warned in the “CEO Diary” podcast that cash may be the worst option for long-term investments. He stated that although people consider cash to be the safest investment, in reality, due to the erosion of inflation, the return on cash will be the lowest. He pointed out that cash includes savings accounts and other short-term interest-bearing assets, and although earning interest is better than leaving money idle, it is still not enough to offset the effects of inflation. Dalio also emphasized that many Americans are looking for investment methods beyond cash and traditional savings to protect their purchasing power. Gold is considered a reliable option because it is not affected by central banks’ arbitrary printing of money and is seen as a safe haven during times of economic turmoil.
