2026-08-02 05:35:34
According to CoinMeta, Dollar General CEO Todd Vasos stated during the company's first-quarter financial report conference call that Dollar General is imitating Costco's discount strategy in order to better serve its customer base. Vasos pointed out that Dollar General's customer base is changing, with an increasing number of high-income customers beginning to frequent this discount chain store, which traditionally serves financially struggling customers. The company has added more $1 price points in the past few quarters and launched a new area called "Value Valley." Vasos emphasized that the $1 price point is crucial for core customers, with sales in the "Value Valley" area increasing by 18.4% year-over-year. In addition, Dollar General has also introduced over 2,000 products priced at $1 or less and plans to continue expanding its private brand offerings in the future.
