According to CoinMeta, as reported by Forbes, Vaulted CEO David McAlvany suggests that quantum computing could lead to the disappearance of Bitcoin within the next four years. Galaxy Digital estimates that approximately 7 million BTC addresses have exposed their public keys, worth about $470 billion. Glassnode estimates there to be 6.04 million such addresses, accounting for 30.2% of the total Bitcoin supply. Bitcoin developers currently have disagreements on solutions; BIP-360 proposes adding anti-quantum address types, while BIP-361 plans to phase out support for old-fashioned signatures. Companies such as Bolts Technologies and American Fortress are also developing anti-quantum solutions, with American Fortress completing a $8 million seed round of financing in May.
