According to CoinMeta, South Korea's five major cryptocurrency exchanges based on the Korean won recorded a net outflow of stablecoins amounting to 560.3 billion won (approximately $367 million) in June, continuing the country's 18-month trend of continuous net outflows. According to data from the Financial Services Supervision Agency, Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax sent 276.25 billion won in stablecoins to overseas platforms in June and received 220.22 billion won from overseas exchanges. Although the amount transferred varied, the net outflow in June was higher than the 47.71 billion won in May, but still lower than the 114.29 billion won in January. The report indicates that the transferred stablecoins were mainly used for products not available on domestic exchanges, including crypto and stock derivatives, tokenized real assets, decentralized financial services, and staking products.
