According to CoinMeta, over the past two years, Wall Street has begun to introduce cryptocurrencies into traditional finance through exchange-traded funds (ETFs), custody, and other regulated products. Nowadays, crypto exchanges are bringing stocks, indices, and commodities onto their platforms through perpetual contracts. In the first five months of 2026, crypto exchanges handled perpetual contract transactions related to traditional assets totaling $1.32 trillion, compared to $104.21 billion for the entire year of 2025. This growth has changed their business structure, as indicated by Bitget. Last year, there were no perpetual stock products on these platforms, with 100% of trading volume coming from crypto; however, now about 28% of trading volume comes from the stock business, mainly from stock perpetual contracts.
