According to CoinMeta, crypto exchanges are introducing traditional financial assets into a 24/7 trading system through stocks, indices, and commodities perpetual contracts. Coingecko data shows that in the first five months of 2026, the trading volume of perpetual contracts linked to traditional assets reached 1.32 trillion US dollars, far exceeding the 104.21 billion US dollars traded throughout 2025. Bitget indicates that stock trading now accounts for about 28% of their total trading volume. Both Coinbase and Binance are pursuing a "multi-functional exchange" model, aiming to allow users to trade crypto assets, stocks, and derivatives from the same account, and are also exploring the use of tokenized stocks as collateral.
