According to CoinMeta, a member of the Dogecoin community, Mishaboar, recently posted on the X platform issuing an important warning to users of the Coldcard wallet, urging them to immediately migrate their funds to a new wallet. This warning was issued after a major security vulnerability was discovered in the Coldcard hardware wallet. Mishaboar emphasized that users should not reuse the mnemonic phrases from the old wallet but should create new ones for their new wallets. In addition, Mishaboar also advised users not to enter their mnemonic phrases on computers and to maintain offline backups. According to Galaxy Research's analysis, this vulnerability allowed attackers to systematically extract Bitcoin from thousands of wallets, involving 4,585 addresses with a total of approximately 1367.05 BTC, worth about 88.6 million US dollars. The person in charge of this research, Alex Thorn, stated that attacks exploiting this vulnerability are still ongoing and called on users who have not yet migrated their assets to act as soon as possible.
