OPEC agrees to increase production by 188,000 barrels per day in September to complete the production reduction rollback for 2023

According to CoinMeta, OPEC announced that it will increase its collective production target by about 188,000 barrels per day in September, completing the gradual rollback of the voluntary production cut of 1.65 million barrels per day for 2023. Although this increase is largely symbolic, due to the restrictions on export flows in the Gulf region caused by the conflict with Iran, it is unlikely that this additional crude oil will appear on the actual market in the short term. Analysts point out that if the improved relations with Iran claimed by Trump come to fruition and Gulf flows return to normal, Saudi Arabia and its partners will have the room to increase actual production, helping to alleviate the supply tensions that have pushed up the costs of gasoline and diesel.
