According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coinpost, Bitget announced on August 3rd that it would terminate services for residents of Japan. The specific procedures and timeline for restricting related accounts will be published on a dedicated page, and users will also receive email notifications accordingly. Bitget has previously been listed by the Japanese Financial Services Agency as an unregistered crypto asset exchange and received a warning on November 29, 2024. In similar situations, Bybit stopped new registrations for Japanese residents in October 2025 and completed its withdrawal from the Japanese market on July 22, 2026.
