According to CoinMeta, on August 3, 2026, Wu Qing, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), attended the listing ceremony of 5-year RMB government bond futures on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) and delivered a speech. In his speech, he proposed a series of new measures to further deepen practical cooperation and close coordination between the two regions' markets. During his visit to Hong Kong, Wu Qing met with Li Jiachao, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as well as with Chan Mo-po, Secretary for Finance of Hong Kong, Wong Tin-yu, Chairman of the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong, Leung Fung-yee, Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Tang Ka-shing, Chairman of the HKEX, and Chen Yi-ting, Chief Executive Officer of the HKEX. They exchanged views on deepening practical cooperation in the capital markets of both regions and on consolidating and enhancing Hong Kong's status as an international financial center. In addition, Wu Qing also conducted on-site inspections in the northern metropolitan area of Hong Kong.
