According to CoinMeta, Wall Street brokerage firm Bernstein warns that if the Clearing House Act is not passed this year, it could trigger another sell-off in the crypto market. Analyst Gautam Chhugani pointed out in a report on Monday that the prospects for passing the bill have worsened, despite resolving controversial issues including regulations on stablecoin yields. Analysts say that the failure to pass the bill will lead to an immediate negative reaction in the digital asset market, but they expect this setback to be temporary, as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will accelerate rule-making under the Trump administration. The Clearing House Act is widely regarded as the most important U.S. legislation for the crypto industry, and its supporters believe it will establish clear rules for digital assets, reduce regulatory uncertainty, and promote broader institutional adoption.
