According to CoinMeta, South Korea's core CPI increased by 2.6% year-on-year in July, marking the largest increase since December 2023. In July, CPI rose by 2.8% year-on-year, which is lower than the 3.0% expected by a Reuters survey and a decrease from 3.2% in June, setting a new three-month low. On a month-over-month basis, CPI fell by 0.2%, whereas expectations were for a 0.1% increase; this is the first month-over-month decline since November 2025, mainly due to a 5.5% drop in oil prices.
