According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, oil prices fell on Tuesday. Brent crude futures rose by 17 cents, or 0.2%, to $83.94 per barrel, reaching a high of $86.33 in the early session. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil in the United States fell by 30 cents, or 0.37%, to $80.04 per barrel, also touching a high of $82.33 in the morning. Analyst Giovanni Staunovo stated that oil prices declined due to comments from Qatari officials, who said a potential U.S.-Iran solution had been drafted. A spokesman for Qatar's Foreign Ministry, Majed Al Ansari, said that diplomatic efforts were continuing, with Qatar, Pakistan, and Oman among other mediators coordinating to facilitate negotiations and exchange drafts. Goldman Sachs expects Brent oil prices to hover in the range of $80 to $90 per barrel until a new U.S.-Iran agreement is confirmed or attacks escalate.
