According to CoinMeta, as reported by Coindesk, Bitgo has switched its $7.3 billion in WBTC cross-chain transfers from LayerZero to the cross-chain interoperability protocol of Chainlink ( CCIP ). This move has resulted in a total value of approximately $14.6 billion being migrated from LayerZero to Chainlink. Bitgo stated that this migration will standardize the deployment of WBTC around the cross-chain token standards of Chainlink ( CCT ) and will make CCIP the default choice for future issuance of digital assets. The company added that this design allows them to directly control token contracts, transfer restrictions, and other operational settings, without having to entrust these functions to external bridge providers.
