Warren demands that SEC investigate Trump's $TRUMP tokens

According to CoinMeta, Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren is pushing for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate President Trump's $TRUMPICO tokens, as this aligns with the debates over ethical constraints on digital assets and the structure of the crypto market. Warren, along with her Democratic colleague Richard Blumenthal, have requested from SEC Chair Paul Atkins, who was appointed by Trump, to investigate the $3.8 billion in losses suffered by nearly 1 million investors in the $TRUMPICO tokens. Trump's recent financial disclosures show that he profited $6.36 million from these tokens. In a letter to Atkins, Warren and Blumenthal pointed out that while all cryptocurrency transactions involve risk, such blatant asymmetry raises questions about how the president acquired his crypto wealth, including possible fraudulent profit schemes, which affects the integrity and stability of the market. The value of the $TRUMPICO tokens once exceeded $46 at their peak, but it has now steadily declined to $1.47. The price of the tokens saw a brief rise when the company announced a dinner event, including one where Trump was a keynote speaker at Mar-a-Lago, but such price fluctuations are temporary.
