Fed Spokesperson: Bessent's Policy Response Function Has Become Less Dovish
2026-08-05 00:42:56
According to CoinMeta, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's policy response function has shifted to being less dovish. Her remarks this year suggest that the Federal Reserve should continue to keep interest rates unchanged. Yellen has cited models indicating that the Federal Reserve's interest rate levels may be ranging from more than 25 basis points above neutral rates to more than 100 basis points above them. She defended Josh Walsh's decision last week not to elaborate on any policy response function and proposed a set of policies that could be considered dovish, advocating for ignoring recent shocks. She pointed out that underlying inflation is "very mild... very stable," and believes that this situation will continue.
