AAVE Founder: Ethereum Should Not Be Punished for Its Growth
2026-08-05 10:31:14
According to CoinMeta, the founder of AAVE, Stani Kulechov, opposes the new Ethereum proposal, stating that Ethereum should not be penalized for its growth. The proposal aims to limit the amount of new ETH generated through staking and may weaken demand for this asset. Developer Jerome De Tychey submitted the proposal, calling it a "gradual issuance burn," with plans to stop new issuance rewards when staked ETH reaches 50% of the total supply. Kulechov warns that such uncertainty may deter institutional investors and affect the activity of the DeFi lending market. The proposal is still under discussion, and there are disagreements within the community regarding its impact.
