2026-08-05 16:57:58
According to CoinMeta, Eliza Labs founder Shaw Walters announced that the Eliza token has been declared “dead” and confirmed that the foundation began to disband after reaching a legal settlement with Burwick Law. Based on Walters’s posts on social media, the settlement agreement includes transferring the remaining funds of the foundation to a group of token holders. He stated that the project lacked the financial resources to continue legal battles, hence the decision to settle. Walters also mentioned that the foundation will no longer support this token and will in the future be separated from the Eliza open-source software project. Nevertheless, the development of ElizaOS will continue, and Walters emphasized that he will focus on building open-source AI proxy software that allows users to have better control over their data.
