According to CoinMeta, the MiCA Crypto Alliance launched a MiCA CASP tracker on August 5th, which converts the public authorization data from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) into a searchable directory. This tool allows users to check whether companies are listed in ESMA’s registry of crypto asset markets and to verify their legitimacy. Each record displays the company’s name, legal entity identifier, country of registration, national regulatory authority, authorization date, and service categories. The ESMA updates its temporary registry on a weekly basis, with the latest version being from July 31st. The new tracker includes search and comparison functions, enabling users to filter records by company, country, regulatory authority, or service. MiCA specifies ten types of regulated crypto services, including custody, trading platform operation, and asset transfer, among others. A company’s appearance in the registry does not imply that all of its products are subject to MiCA regulation, and ESMA indicates that crypto lending is not included in the list of services. The tracker was introduced after the end of the MiCA transition period, and ESMA requires unauthorized providers to stop accepting new customers and advises consumers to verify providers through official registration.
