eliza OS Project founder announces project termination and reaches settlement with holders
2026-08-05 18:05:31
According to CoinMeta, the founder of eliza OS, Shaw Walters, tweeted that he had sued the project team before. The related claims lacked basis, but since the project team was unable to bear the legal costs, a settlement was ultimately reached with a group of holders. The remaining funds from the treasury and all existing funds were handed over. Shaw Walters stated that the eliza token project has been terminated, and the foundation will gradually cease operations. He himself never sold any ai16z tokens; aside from receiving a salary that is roughly equivalent to that of other engineers, he did not earn any other income from the project. He currently does not hold any tokens and no longer supports the eliza tokens. He advises holders to sell or dispose of their tokens on their own. In the future, he plans to restart the project, continue to develop eliza and its underlying operating system, and promote localized, privatized, and crypto-enabled agent technologies.
