According to CoinMeta, after Circle released its mixed financial results for the second quarter of 2026, the stock price initially rose by 7% before falling back by nearly 3%. The company's quarterly revenue was $701 million, lower than Wall Street's forecast of $717 million, but earnings per share were $0.18, slightly higher than the expected $0.17. Circle's net income also exceeded expectations, reaching $48 million. Despite an initial positive reaction, as investors assessed that revenue did not meet expectations and operational trends were weak, the stock price subsequently fell to $61.39. The brokerage firm maintained a "poor performance" rating on Circle and set a target price of $45, suggesting that the stock price will fall by about 27%. The firm noted that the decline in USDC's liquidity and a significant reduction in on-chain trading volume indicate that stablecoin activity weakened during the reporting period. Circle's adjusted EBITDA profit margin decreased by 329 basis points compared to the same period last year, showing that the company retained less operating profit from its revenue. Nevertheless, Circle expects USDC's liquidity to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 40% and has raised its forecasts for other revenues.
