Move Creator Sam Blackshear leaves Mysten Labs, what will SUI do next?
2026-08-06 12:35:00
According to CoinMeta, the founder of the Move programming language and co-founder of Mysten Labs, Sam Blackshear, has announced his departure from the company to join Anthropic and focus on defensive security research. Although he will no longer be involved in daily operations, he confirmed that he will continue to support the SUI ecosystem as a consultant. After his resignation, Evan Web3 will take over as the company's technical leader, returning to oversee the entire cycle from research to product development. Market observers stated that despite the change in leadership, they are more concerned about the on-chain activities of SUI rather than its price. Analyst Benji noted that the supply of stablecoins on the network has surged by 30% this week, which is the largest increase he has observed in the past two months, with a monthly net inflow of $921,000. Despite the increased capital inflow, SUI is still trading around $0.69, indicating a gap between network activity and price performance.
