According to CoinMeta, the stolen Bitcoins caused by a vulnerability in the Coldcard wallet have now begun to be transferred through mixers, but the 1,159 Bitcoins controlled by the main attacker remain untouched. These funds are distributed across seven addresses controlled by the attackers and have not been transferred since the initial consolidation. On-chain investigators stated that these Bitcoins were stolen within about 41 minutes, and no transfers from these seven addresses to exchanges or mixers have been detected yet. Although the funds have not been technically frozen, the attackers may face attention risks when transferring such a large amount of money. Exchanges, law enforcement agencies, and blockchain analysis companies have marked approximately 600 addresses related to the theft. Analysts discovered that another attacker attempted to cover up the transfer of about 64 Bitcoins. The mixing activities do not seem to be related to the address cluster holding the 1,159 Bitcoins. The total loss is estimated to be between 1,596 and 2,055 Bitcoins, and affected users need to create new wallet seeds and transfer their Bitcoins.
