According to CoinMeta, Bitget recently signed a cooperation agreement with the Ghalap Meditation City Administration of Bhutan ( GMCA ). Under the terms of the agreement, Bitget will establish a legal entity in Ghalap Meditation City ( GMC ) and prepare applications for relevant financial service licenses under the supervision of the Ghalap Financial Services Office ( GFSO ). At the same time, cooperation will be carried out with GMCA regarding operations, regulation, and ecosystem construction. As part of the plan, Bitget will also gradually set up offices locally and begin local recruitment to support talent development and long-term construction. As a special administrative region in southern Bhutan, GMC is being developed into the next-generation international finance and innovation center, with its virtual asset system governed by the "2025 Financial Services Act". A director of the Ghalap Meditation City Board of Directors, Jigdrel Singay, pointed out that introducing partners such as Bitget helps to bring global expertise while promoting the development of local capabilities and a broader financial ecosystem.
