2026-08-06 23:34:12
According to CoinMeta, OpenAI has officially announced its next major model, Astra for the first time. This model has made new progress in 10 long-standing unsolved problems in mathematics and theoretical computer science, including constructing non-sofic groups, refuting the Connes conjecture, and solving 3 Erd ős problems. The remaining achievements involve new upper and lower bounds and proofs of difficulty related to sphere packing, coding theory, quantum complexity, and post-quantum cryptography. According to information from the whistleblower blogger Leo, OpenAI plans to release Astra next week, which will be the largest model trained since GPT-4.5.
