According to CoinMeta, Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh stated that if inflation exceeds expectations, the Fed is prepared to raise interest rates in September. This would be the first rate hike since December 2025, when the Fed cut the benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points. Warsh noted that although he made some mistakes in the first 10 weeks of his tenure as Fed chairman, he is ready to resume raising rates to address the rising inflationary pressures. The futures market currently estimates a 55% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike in September.
