He claimed that the birthright citizenship system has been abused for a long time, and that "birth tourism" has developed into a business. He alleged that "hundreds of thousands of people" may use such methods each year to grant their children U.S. citizenship, and cited examples of individuals bringing dozens of children in the name of their families to participate in these arrangements. Trump also mentioned that the Supreme Court had previously made an "unfair" ruling regarding his policies to restrict birthright citizenship, hence the government is pursuing new measures to implement these restrictions. He believes that the latest executive orders are constitutional and stated that the government will put an end to the practice of using commercialized "birth tourism" to obtain U.S. citizenship.
