According to CoinMeta, today's data from the U.S. Department of Labor shows that non-farm employment decreased unexpectedly by 23,000 in July, compared to an expected increase of 80,000. Private sector employment only increased by 30,000, far below the anticipated 78,000. At the same time, the unemployment rate dropped unexpectedly to 4.1%, the lowest level in 14 months. Weak hiring data may make the Federal Reserve more cautious about further interest rate hikes.
