Former SEC Advisor: The Clear Crypto Act is Not Dead Yet
2026-08-07 22:58:39
According to CoinMeta, former advisor to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) SEC, Justin Slaughter stated that the Clearing House Act for Crypto is not completely abandoned, despite the U.S. Senate's recent decision to postpone the consideration of the bill until September. He pointed out that although the chances of the bill passing have significantly decreased, there is still hope that it could be passed during the "lame-duck" session after the elections. Slaughter also mentioned that the bill faces challenges including the refusal of at least ten senators to agree to a timeline, as well as opposition from Republican senators at the last moment. He emphasized that the industry still needs to work hard to win the support of policymakers and mainstream media.
