Trezor User loses all savings due to phishing website
2026-08-07 23:01:47
According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin and news, a Trezor user claimed that after clicking on a promotional link in the search results of Google, they were directed to a phishing website that impersonated Trezor. Following prompts on the page, the user entered their wallet recovery phrase, resulting in the loss of what they described as "all their savings." The relevant phishing page was hosted on Google Sites and mimicked the official wallet import interface of Trezor. Trezor stated that they are following up on the report and working to have the involved website taken down, while also reminding users once again not to enter their wallet backup or recovery phrase on any website or online form.
