According to CoinMeta, JPMorgan Chase noted that the second-quarter earnings season has entered its later stages, with approximately 80%-85% of companies in the United States and Europe having already released their financial results. This quarter, corporate earnings have been strong, with both the U.S. and European regions experiencing EPS that exceeded expectations, and the range of companies with超出-expected performance is quite broad. The proportion of companies in the U.S. and Europe reporting EPS higher than market expectations has significantly increased. Despite market expectations being relatively high before the earnings season began, the composite EPS of the S&P 500 index constituents continued to rise. The proportion of companies downgrading their profit forecasts has dropped to the lowest level since 2021. Regionally, the year-over-year growth in corporate earnings reached 25% in the U.S. and 23% in Europe, both exceeding market consensus. Revenue growth was also healthy, with year-over-year increases of 14% in the U.S. and 10% in Europe. At the industry level, a large portion of the earnings growth in both regions came from the energy sector, mainly driven by rising energy prices due to geopolitical conflicts. The financial industry was also an important driver of earnings growth in both the U.S. and Europe, and the technology sector made a significant contribution as well.
