2026-08-09 10:11:30
According to CoinMeta, SpaceX has announced a merger agreement with Anysphere, the developer of the Cursor programming tool. The acquisition will be conducted in the form of a all-stock deal for $60 billion, with delivery expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2026. The two parties reached a cooperation in April 2026, whereby SpaceX was granted the exclusive option to acquire Anysphere for $60 billion. If SpaceX decides to forego the acquisition, it will be required to pay $10 billion as compensation for joint research and development efforts. Following the completion of the acquisition, Cursor will no longer exist as an independent team but will be integrated into SpaceX AI. Additionally, the Cursor brand may also gradually fade out.
