According to CoinMeta, DeepMind CEO Hassabis will step down from CEO and take on the role of Chairman of Google DeepMind. He will also become the Chief Scientist at Google's parent company, Alphabet, responsible for the long-term research directions of the group. At the same time, he will continue to lead AI, the pharmaceutical company. Google has announced adjustments to its management team, with DeepMind CTO Koray Kavukcuoglu taking over the day-to-day operations of the team. Reports suggest that Hassabis originally intended to leave Google at the same time as Jeff Dean, but management was concerned that the departure of both prominent figures would severely impact the stock price, so they advised him to stay for now. After the announcement, the stock price of Alphabet fell by about 5%.
