Schroders Approves the Launch of Tokenized Money Market Funds in Ireland
2026-08-10 19:33:55
According to CoinMeta, Schroders has announced that it has received approval from the Central Bank of Ireland to launch its first tokenized dollar-denominated money market fund share class, named “Schroders Onchain Active Returns ( SOAR )”. This fund is aimed at satisfying customers' interest in digital asset products and improving the efficiency of fund operations. Investors will be able to use JPMorgan Chase's Kinexys multi-chain tokenization system to process transactions such as redemptions and transfers through smart contracts. Schroders stated that this structure will enable money market funds to operate more easily outside of traditional systems and pointed out potential future uses, such as for collateral and 24/7 financial and liquidity management. This authorization follows Schroders Capital's introduction of tokenization capabilities for its insurance-related securities investment platform earlier this year.
