According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is about to propose its first formal rule, aiming to establish more permanent regulations for the crypto industry, particularly to provide a standardized path for the legal issuance of digital assets. SEC Chair Paul Atkins considers the formulation of this rule as one of the main goals of its crypto regulatory plan. The meeting is scheduled for August 14th, where three commissioners (all Republicans) will publicly solicit feedback. This proposal is expected to provide financing pathways for crypto companies, avoiding triggering SEC registration requirements, and to offer an exit route for companies that no longer directly manage projects.
