According to CoinMeta, Keel Infrastructure announced that it has ceased all its Bitcoin mining operations in the United States and has redirected its power investment portfolio towards artificial intelligence and high-performance computing data centers. In its second-quarter financial report disclosed on August 10, the company reported a 50% year-over-year decline in revenue to $30.4 million, along with a net loss of approximately $65 million. Although its Bitcoin mining operations in Washington and Pennsylvania have ended, Keel continues to operate its traditional Bitcoin mining assets in Canada and plans to shift more of its Canadian capacity towards high-performance computing and AI workloads. Keel's SEC documents indicate that the withdrawal from the U.S. was carried out in phases, with mining operations in Washington state ending on April 28 and those in Pennsylvania stopping on June 29. The company also plans to increase additional power capacity at its facilities in Pennsylvania.
