Corma Raises $60 Million for Special Training in Defense Against AI

According to CoinMeta, the cybersecurity startup Corma has officially made its debut and completed a $60 million seed round of financing, led by Sequoia Capital. Corma is retraining basic models specifically for network defense and transforming them into security tools that can directly integrate with existing corporate security systems. Corma also conducted offensive and defensive tests. claude, opus, gpt-5.5, grok, deepseek, and v4 took turns launching attacks and defenses within the same simulated corporate network, conducting a total of 241 tests. In 85% of the tests, the attackers successfully left behind backdoors that remained active even after the system was restarted, while the defenders only managed to detect such backdoors in an average of 19% of cases. Corma believes that attacks primarily test the code and reasoning capabilities, whereas defense is more like searching for a needle in a haystack, requiring a long-term effort to identify abnormalities from logs, traffic, and normal operations.
