Strategy CEO: Will Increase Bitcoin Holdings Again in 2026

According to CoinMeta, Strategy CEO Phong Le indicates that the company plans to increase its holdings of Bitcoin again in 2026, despite recent sales having reduced its reserves to 840,447 BTC. Fox Business reports that Le expects Strategy to resume the accumulation of Bitcoin to support its dollar reserves and preferred stock products. Comments from Le combine the company's long-term purchasing plan with its capital management strategy, which has led to two consecutive weeks of Bitcoin sales. Strategy uses the proceeds from sales to repurchase its variable-rate preferred stocks, while the sale of common stocks provides cash for its dollar reserves. According to a SEC document dated August 10th, Strategy sold 1,690 BTC between August 3rd and 9th, earning approximately $108.6 million. The company sold Bitcoin at an average price of $64,262 and used the proceeds to repurchase 1,152,020 preferred stocks. Following this transaction, Strategy's Bitcoin reserves decreased from 842,138 BTC to 840,447 BTC.
