According to CoinMeta, the Russian Central Bank announced that, in accordance with the crypto law signed by Putin this month, the public is only allowed to trade Bitcoin ( BTC ), Ethereum ( ETH ), and Tether ( USDT ). This directive will take effect on September 1st. Under the new regulations, only Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT meet the requirements of market capitalization, daily trading volume, and a history of foreign currency prices over 5 years. The annual trading limit for retail buyers is 300,000 rubles (about 3,650 US dollars), and all investors must pass a risk assessment before trading; qualified investors are not subject to purchase restrictions. According to central bank data, retail investors account for 98% of Russia's crypto market, which means that this limit almost covers everyone. Public consultations will continue until August 24th.
