According to CoinMeta, four veteran employees from Google, including the former Chief Scientist Jeff Dean, have left Google to co-found Discovery Loop with the aim of allowing AI to conduct scientific research independently. The backgrounds of the four founders cover core projects at Google such as underlying systems, Google Brain, Gemini, and AlphaFold. Discovery Loop will start with machine learning research; after researchers pose questions, AI will be responsible for writing code, running experiments, and analyzing results. Jeff Dean also shared about his last 48 hours before leaving Google, with approximately 1,500 people attending his farewell party.
