According to CoinMeta, a survey conducted by digital and asset on 109 global digital asset derivatives exchanges revealed that 65 of these exchanges could not be found in Google Play Store, 56 could not be found in the Apple App Store, and 41 of them were not available in either app store. Despite the obstacles to app downloads, the web versions of these exchanges were still accessible on other platforms, except for a few websites. The survey also found that 28 of the exchanges had not registered publicly and showed signs of operating illegally in South Korea, including CoinEx, which had been requested by financial authorities to be blocked and reported to judicial authorities. The Financial Intelligence Analysis Institute (FIA) previously emphasized that the criteria for determining whether foreign operators have an obligation to register domestically include whether they provide a Korean-language interface, hold events for Korean users, or support settlement in Korean won.
