According to CoinMeta, Houthi militants attacked a cargo ship in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday, resulting in six deaths. This is the first fatality related to attacks on Red Sea shipping in over a year. The US military subsequently stated that they launched missiles at a container ship that attempted to break through the blockade of Iranian ports. This incident highlights the impact of war on global shipping lanes, despite diplomats claiming progress in re-opening the Strait of Hormuz. The Yemeni Ministry of Transport reported that among the victims were four crew members, three of Pakistani nationality and one of Indonesian nationality.
