Silver rebound faces a crucial test today

According to CoinMeta, analyst Giuseppedellamotta stated that since last Tuesday, silver has continued to rise steadily due to the improved hopes of a deal between the United States and Iran, and the weaker-than-expected non-farm payroll report also provided further support. However, the upward momentum seems to be weakening, and it may require today's data from the US CPI to continue the upward trend. The CPI data is crucial for the September FOMC decisions as well as Federal Reserve Chairman Powell's speech at the Jackson Hole Symposium. Market attention will be focused on the core CPI month-over-month data, with expectations of 0.2%. If the data exceeds expectations, it could trigger short-term selling, and traders may increase their bets on interest rate hikes. Conversely, if the data is weak or even in line with expectations, it should further reduce the risk of the Federal Reserve tightening policy and provide new momentum for silver to rise.
