According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Reuters, oil prices rose during volatile trading on Wednesday. Previous attacks on two ships exacerbated concerns about disruptions to supplies in the Middle East, while negotiations to end the Iran war reached a deadlock. Brent crude oil futures rose by 17 cents, or 0.2%, to $89.08 per barrel, marking the sixth consecutive day of increases. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil in the United States rose by 20 cents, or 0.2%, to $83.40, also for the fifth consecutive day of gains. Both contracts had earlier risen by more than $1 before briefly pulling back due to concerns over U.S. crude oil inventory data. Market sources said that U.S. crude oil inventories increased significantly, while gasoline and distillate inventories declined. Crude oil inventories rose by about 9.1 million barrels, while gasoline and distillate inventories fell by 1.5 million barrels and 596,000 barrels respectively.
