According to CoinMeta, as reported by bitcoin and news, Bitcoin developers have completed the BIP-54 " consensus cleanup " specification. They intend to fix four types of consensus edge risks through a soft fork, including time distortion attacks, blocks with maliciously high verification costs, 64-byte transaction Merkle proof vulnerabilities, and duplicate coinbase transactions, without adding any new features. F2Pool Co-founder Wang Chun once stated that they would not support this proposal for now, and mining pools would not actively send activation signals. However, if BIP-54 receives the required majority support according to BIP-9, they will cooperate in upgrading nodes. Currently, Mara, ViaBTC, and others have already begun using the compatible coinbase transaction format, but the official activation parameters for BIP-54 have not yet been determined.
