According to CoinMeta, as reported by bits and media, Russian banks that deal with import and export services have begun requiring their corporate clients to explain the economic purpose of purchasing USDT and to confirm whether the counterparty is listed in the Central Bank of Russia's digital currency exchange operator registry. However, the relevant registration system is not yet in place until September 1st when the new regulations come into effect, so it is currently not possible to carry out such verifications. Sovcombank has confirmed that they are already asking some clients for additional information in this regard.
