According to CoinMeta, the flagship inference model Solar Pro 4 released by the Korean company Upstage has seen its intelligence index increase from 14 in the previous generation Solar Pro 3 to 42 in the latest evaluations, with the main improvements coming from its agent and long-context understanding capabilities. However, when compared to DeepSeek V4 Flash, Solar Pro 4 still falls short, with the latter having an intelligence index of 52 points, which is 10 points ahead. DeepSeek outputs approximately 122 token per second, while Solar Pro 4 outputs about 65, making the former nearly twice as fast. In terms of price, Solar Pro 4 requires 0.30 and 1.20 dollars per million token inputs and outputs, respectively, whereas DeepSeek only needs 0.14 and 0.28 dollars. The output price of Solar Pro 4 is more than four times that of DeepSeek. Considering the comprehensive evaluations and API cost-performance ratio, "The Light of Korean Models" has not yet caught up with DeepSeek.
