2026-08-13 15:31:26
According to CoinMeta, Alvin Liew, a senior economist at DBS Bank in Singapore, stated in a report that the inflation rate in the United States may have peaked in the second quarter, but there is still uncertainty regarding energy prices, and inflation could rise again. He noted that the decline in energy prices has helped to curb inflation. However, he said, "Energy prices are still high... If oil prices rise again, the geopolitical tensions in the Middle East could quickly reverse the recent slowdown in inflation." The bank expects that the overall CPI and core CPI growth rates in the United States in 2026 will be around 3.5% and 2.8%, respectively.
